Self Care is the act or practice of taking care of ones self mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Self care can include, but is not limited to, exercise, meditation, journaling, reading, and even sleeping. There is no perfect formula when it comes to self care. It is simply doing whatever it takes to make sure you are your very BEST!

Prayer-Meditation

Prayer/Meditation is a big necessity for me. I make sure I start and end my day with them. To be honest, I pray and meditate all day long. When I'm upset, when I'm happy, when I'm fearful, and even when I'm excited. I find either a scripture or positive affirmation to focus on for the entire day and I hold it in my heart and mind.  This makes my day run smooth!

 I absolutely LOVE a good candle and Franmone Fragrances has just that! Creator Raven Hairston seeks to bring "Joy by the Ounce." Her candles are made with organic soy wax and pure essential oils. They are finished with an eco-friendly cotton wick to create a smooth, clean burn. AND the expected burning time is 52 hours. My absolute favorite candles are the Grapefruit Mint and Lemon Verbena. Reading

Reading has always been one of my favorite activities! There is nothing like getting lost in a good book!  The one thing that I absolutely LOVE about reading is that you can be swept away into a world full of fairy tails and fantasy, or, and this is my personal favorite, you can acquire self help skills that will push you into a brighter future. I encourage you to indulge in reading. You can read a physical book, or you can listen to an audiobook. Which ever you prefer is fine!

Journaling

Journaling is also another technique I utilize in my self care routine. Journaling not only gives me the opportunity to release all my emotions, it also helps me to put things in prospective. There are many ways to journal! You can use prompts or you can write from your heart.

Exercise

Now I will be honest me and exercise have a love hate relationship! I love the excitement after a great workout but not so much the aches and pains that come the next morning! Exercise not only keeps you healthy, but it also clears your mind! The thing I love about exercise is that you don't have to use heavy equipment or run 5 miles. You can walk, jump rope, dance, and so much more!
